Geographical Indication (GI) Tag for Mojari Craft of Jodhpur
Preserving a Timeless Heritage
The Mojari Craft of Jodhpur is one of Rajasthan’s most iconic traditional handicrafts, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, cultural significance, and timeless appeal. For centuries, skilled artisans in the Jodhpur region have handcrafted Mojaris using high-quality leather, intricate hand embroidery, colourful threads, zari work, and traditional embellishments. Every pair is carefully crafted by hand through techniques passed down from one generation to the next, making each Mojari a unique work of art.
Traditionally worn by the royalty and nobility of Rajasthan, Mojaris have evolved into a popular choice for both ethnic and contemporary fashion while retaining their authentic handcrafted identity. Their elegant designs, durability, comfort, and fine detailing make them highly valued across India and in international markets. More than just footwear, Jodhpur Mojaris represent the rich cultural heritage, artistic excellence, and centuries-old craftsmanship of the Marwar region, reflecting the creativity and dedication of its artisan communities.

The recognition of Mojari Craft of Jodhpur with a Geographical Indication (GI) Tag ensures that this unique craft is protected, promoted, and preserved for future generations while celebrating the artisans whose skills have kept this remarkable tradition alive.
